DreamWeaver Website Project

For the past week, I've been working on making a website. While it was a complex project, we did get videos explaining how to do some of the difficult stuff. Here's how:

Adobe Dreamweaver

We each got a file from google classroom to insert into adobe dreamweaver. In doing so, we were able to edit them and turn them into websites on our Mac server.

Second Page

For a part of our project, we were to create a second page to our website. This required copying our previous page into a second tab, then editing it to make a "projects" page.

The End Result:

Sketchup House

Hello people! It's been almost an entire month since my last post on here. Well, I did work on a project in that time.

Sketchup House Project

Our assignment was to find a house plan on houseplans.com and try to remake it using sketchup.
The link to the one I chose is here:

Here is a look at my version:

Animating a ball

Just like the title says, the freshman animation students animated a ball bouncing. well, actually, we made three animations.

Bouncing up and down

It's a ball bouncing up and down. all we did was use the frame animation tool with multiple layers and looped it like this:

Oh great the GIF doesn't work properly and I can't attach an mp4 file to this post. lovely. well, here you go, it's a picture of a red circle over grass.

Bouncing from the side?

I am literally crossing my fingers right now for this to work:

Oh my god why. I'm just gonna put the surprise version picture below

Surprise round?

Im not even gonna try anymore.
yup. still image.

Ten word animation

Today the e9 animation freshmen (I'm in animation now) worked on this blog post talking abut animating ten words to fit on a screen. here you go:

This process was fairly simple, just using a move tool with the timeline tool in photoshop for the words to come onscreen. a simple first project, but it introduces the concept.

Logo Design Project

                  Intro:

For the freshman e-comm graphic design students, our final task was to design a logo that could represent a future graphic design company if we go down the graphic design career path. This process took a good chunk of the first quarter, and it went as follows.

                Steps:

First was the task of sketching. This required us to put our ideas on paper, although unfortunately I don't have an image of it. Secondly, we were to actually put our sketches into logo form. We chose the best out of the ones we made. I believe the most difficult part was choosing the color of the logo background, as there are so many and a lot of them are similar.
The Final Look Of My Project

Eventually I narrowed it down to just black and white because it gave my logo a much more businesslike look. Now I am to test what my logo looks like on some objects.

                   Practical uses:

On a Sign:

On a Shirt:

On a Truck:

                Conclusion:

As we can see, my logo looks amazing. Although it does have a problem on non-white backgrounds, it still looks professional. This has also been an experience all the same. people think the people who design logos just create a logo and that's it, but there's a lot of sketching and brainstorming and dead ends to it. It's still difficult, even if it doesn't look like it from the outside.

Typography project

Today the freshman E Communications students finished a project on typography. I myself was personally horrified by the lack of tolerance for using the best font, comic sans. I'm kidding this was a serious project, there's no time for comic sans. The entire point of the project was to use a serif font and label its parts, like an anatomy poster in a biology classroom. Here is my end result.
Oh yeah we also had to use our names for the project.
...

The Project itself states what I've learned about typefaces and their anatomies. I mean, look at all these parts!

Color scheme logo project

Today we have done a project based around color schemes and their applications in the world around us. The e9 Graphic design freshmen have been tasked with taking different color schemes and finding logos that fit them. For example, for a monochromatic color scheme, I chose to use the A&W logo because it uses multiple shades of brown, and the animal planet logo for it's multiple shades of green.
Image result for monochromatic logo
As I just explained, there are multiple shades of brown. This is probably because A&W is a root beer company, and the logo looks like root beer.

The multiple shades of green for this logo, along with the letters being uneven, are supposed to give the channel a "wild" look

The logos I chose for the warm color scheme was the shell logo and the mcdonalds logo

yeah these ones pretty obvious why I put it here. red is supposed to be a color of urgency, making people buy fast and leave. the yellow that goes with it is just there for the logo's color scheme

Analogous color schemes lead to quite a few logos, but the bp logo and the ocean spray logo were probably the best examples
As you can see, the yellow, yellow-green, and green are all there for this logo, and it gives an energy friendly feel, despite the fact its an oil company.
The multiple shades of blue make the logo look... well, like ocean spray

For cool colored logos, I chose the dropbox logo because it's blue and the Starbucks logo because it's green and black.
Yeah. It's blue. it looks like something tech-y? is techy a word? well my spellchecker says no

'ey come get your coffee 'here!

Ok, two color schemes left and the next one is complementary. I chose the Firefox and Krispy Kreme logo. ugh. just spelling that the way the logo is spelled feels like a crime against my sanity
The blue and orange gives a yin-and-yang look to the logo.
The logo pops out as it looks like its from decades ago (it is)

Last but not least, we have triad colors. I went with both the superman and Burger King logos.
Unfortunately, at the time I write this, there is a glitch in the website making me unable to post images. oh well.

Color Wheel Adobe Illustrator Project

Color Wheel Adobe Illustrator Project

Over the past few days, the freshman graphic design e-comm students, including myself, have been working on our first project on adobe illustrator, which was to make a color wheel. This task was very simple, and I hope the end product looks ok.

This is a color wheel. it has colors in a wheel form. no surprise.

Sidewalk Chalk Team Project 2017

Wednesday, on August 23rd, 2017, The Freshman E-communications students finished designs for a sidewalk chalk image of great proportions. I was one of those students. We were then beginning our drawings. Our group decided to make a design like a coat of arms. Our shield would have a banner on the top and bottom, with a sword going through the Middle. We also decided to put four symbols in each corner of the shield. I chose to draw a harp, as it represents contemplation, which is something I do often.

the latin on the bottom banner reads"ravens forever"
Using the primary color scheme of red, yellow, and blue, I went for a royal looking instrument, and I think the harp looks magical.

This picture may have nothing to do with the project,
But this raven looks very unhappy with life at the moment.
                                                "CAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW"
