Last Post of the School Year, Shark Tank Thing.


Hi!  I haven't posted in quite awhile, mainly because there was nothing to post about. but for our E9 final, we had to work in a group to create a fake product for a fake shark tank show. Then after the project we were told to answer these questions in a blog:


  1. Write about your 4th Quarter Group Product and Presentation, website, graphic design, video and animation that you made.

    1. What was the project? 

      We decided to work on a patch that made you work out while you sleep, dubbed the Mini Coach.

    2. How long did it take? 

      All of 4th quarter

    3. What were some challenges you faced? 

      The Website's root folder got corrupted once, but we fixed it.

    4. What did you learn along the way? 

      I learned that if one color doesn't suit your website, you should add a gradient background
    5. What was some feedback you were given? 

      None

    6. What did you change?
      mainly just the logo changed over time.
      What is your overall opinion of your work in 4th Quarter? 


      great. the website looked amazing, the video commercial was good, and our logo was genius.

      1. How did you use your time in class this quarter?
        we used it effectively.

        1. What activities did you complete during class time? 

          all but the website, which took a bit of lunch to wrap up

        2. How did you stay productive in the times that you finished early or thought you
 were done?  (Did you research ways to improve your skills? Did you critique your project to find places to improve?  Did you communicate with your team when you were finished? Did they agree with you?)

      What do you do outside of class to enhance your work as a e-Communication student or to better your projects? 

      I really don't do anything to do that. after all, I don't have these programs at home.

      1. What are your areas of strength as an employee or e-Communication student after one year? 

        I'm mainly good at web and video.

      By working on web and video
      1. What are your areas in need of improvement?
        Animation.

        1. What did you do to support or improve in these areas?
          nothing. Alexis, Miles, and Thalia handled animation while I did the website
      2. Summary

        1. What did you love most about this quarter? 

          The memes. probably. I dunno.

        2. What would you change or do differently? 

          I would not have accepted Thalia's challenge to chess.

        3. Overall take-away or learning from this quarter? 
          Never play chess. Ever. unless its casual. 


        4. One goal you would like to set for next year? 

          Hope to god chess goes out of style over summer
        5. Final thoughts? 

          1) I had fun working with this group (a rarity)
          2) surprisingly work was split evenly
          3) God danger future me DO NOT PLAY CHESS!

Css CARP Design



     This week, we worked on a website using adobe dreamweaver. Before, we used only HTML code to make the site, then we used CSS design and the rules of CARP to greatly improve the website.

RULES OF CARP


C - Contrast

          Making Headings, images, and important information stand out using bold, italics, headings and colors greatly improves the look of a document or project.

A - Alignment

          Almost always align text on the left or right - putting it in the center makes the text look messy and rough around the edges


R - Repetition

          Repeating a design establishes a system based on unity. the use of repetition for a project establishes order in the document.


P - Proximity

         Keeping everything in repeating proximity of each other sets up a professional presentation. If in one slide of a powerpoint presentation, the title was above the text, and in another to the right of it, it would break the order of things.

My Personality Type



INTP



 My personality type, according to the Myers-Briggs personality test, is INTP, which stands for Introverted, iNtuitive, Thinking, Perceiving. INTP's are passionate when in discussions they are interested in, which usually includes logic and reasoning. They are also quick to point out holes in other people's thinking as well. INTP's are usually philosophical innovators, and can come up with innovative ideas on the fly. However, they usually forget they exist, so it's good for an INTP to have friends to collect the genius and sort through the possible and impossible. INTP's have a hard time thinking about possibility, and usually leave the finer details of an idea to someone else to refine. All of this makes the personality type a great project manager, creating innovative ideas to be refined through the group's work. Multiple famous people also have this trait, including multiple ancient greek philosophers and historians, Abraham Lincoln, Rene Descartes, and Albert Einstein. 



Lion/Otter/Beaver/Golden Retriever

        In this personality test, we were to test which of the four animals mentioned in the heading we are. I got otter, which is a carefree spirit that does work fast and likes having as little responsibility as possible.  
        I find both these tests to be pretty spot-on, so I have nothing much else to say about them.

How To Print a Document Video


  Intro


           In our freshman e-comm class, we were assigned a project to film a video on how to print a document. Here it is:


         We also created a powerpoint presentation on the same topic, but using a collection of pictures instead of a video.





How We Made It.

Using an iPad and a tripod, we filmed a few shots documenting the steps on how to print a document. Next, we used airdrop to send the videos over to the computer, and by using premiere pro to edit the videos together, we created videos like this.
